Verizon Brings Back Unlimited Data Plan: What You Need to Know

1 min read

Verizon is reintroducing an unlimited data plan for its customers at $80 starting on Monday. This plan also includes unlimited talk and text, as well as 10 GB of mobile hotspot usage and calling and texting to Mexico and Canada. Customers can also stream unlimited HD video without any restrictions. However, after using 22 GB of data in one billing cycle, Verizon may prioritize the customer’s usage in times of network congestion. This move by Verizon follows a trend in the industry where other major carriers have also brought back unlimited plans. Verizon had previously removed their unlimited plan in 2011, but the market demand has led to its comeback. Other competitors like T-Mobile, Sprint, and AT&T have also made changes to their data plans to attract customers with unlimited data options. Sprint started offering unlimited talk, text, and high-speed data for $60 for the first line, while T-Mobile charged $70 for the first line, with decreasing costs for additional lines. Verizon’s new plan is part of a larger trend in the mobile industry, as customers increasingly look for unlimited data options.
